Whether you’re using Paola’s Journey in a class of elementary or secondary school, many avenues can be explored with your students:
- The equilibrium between the material and spiritual worlds.
- The pressure of peers, the respects of differences, bullying, negative versus positive leaders, street gangs, etc.
- The ego with the legend of The three piggy banks.
- The importance of listening to their heart with Sohïana.
- The potential we all have with the legend of The Commode with eight drawers.
- The magic of life with The first snow.
- Death and the lost of a love one through the death of Paola’s father.
- The mountains of life.
Karine, a teacher of secondary I and II of students with learning desabilities have used Paola’s Journey and asked her students to pick one of the stories inside and illustrate it with images from the Internet. This activity was well received by her students. For many students with learning disabiities, Paola’s Journey was their very first book they’s read entirely.
